The Frank H Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies restructures Its annual awards to Atlantic Canadian Business Students Increasing the top prize to $45,000 for Eight Students
Over $450,000 in annual prize purse available to students from all Atlantic Business Schools
STELLARTON, N.S. The Board of Directors of the Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies is pleased to announce enhancements of the annual Awards, open to eligible students from all Atlantic Canadian University business faculties.
In addition to the eight spots allotted for the top prize of $45,000, all runner-up candidates nominated by their business schools will receive a $3,500 honorarium. Nominations for the Awards are now open, and winners will be selected in early 2023 following the submissions’ process through the faculties of business of universities from across the region.

Every year we are amazed by the caliber of talent emerging from all university business schools across Atlantic Canada. We hope that these Awards and Honorariums will help these high potential future business leaders to finish their studies with increased capacity and lower student debt,” said Paul Sobey Chair of the Frank H. Sobey Awards. “These Awards will allow these students to focus on their future entrepreneurial ventures and career aspirations.”
Since 1989, the Frank H. Sobey Awards have awarded over $2.8M to 207 emerging business leaders from Atlantic Canada. The Awards are accompanied by a mentorship program lead by business and social enterprise leaders from across the region.

About the Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies
The Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies presents awards of $45,000 each. All eligible full-time business students attending Atlantic universities will be considered. Deans of Business at each university nominate candidates with a minimum B- average based on entrepreneurship, supporting the communities in which they live and work, and their employment experience.
Established in 1989, the Frank H. Sobey Awards for Excellence in Business Studies have awarded more than $2.8 Million to business students in the four Atlantic Provinces. Each university in the region offering a business program has had at least one recipient of a Frank H. Sobey Award.
